Made up a few accounts to get the hang of how it all works, using the 11 programs suggested.
The email verification was not working. All else went well.
Decided to try manually and may have uncovered the problem.
When you first access an account in the UK, you get a page which says this
MySpace UK?
You can still make friends with anyone in any country, but by setting MySpace UK as your default, you'll be able to search and browse by UK postal codes, see UK-local content, concerts and other events specifically for our UK users!
Cheers! Set MySpace UK as my default!
Nah, I'll stay with the Yanks
What other International versions of MySpace are there?
(these above are links and you need to select one)
Once you select one of these your account opens so you can see your home page and profile but there is a box with this in it
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Verify your email address!
You can't send messages, post comments, post bulletins or add friends until you verify your email!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you click to verify, it takes you to
another page which includes an option to verify button.
If you click this it says that email has been sent.
Go to your email and click the verification link they sent
while still logged in, you get back to the site and verification is complete.
Meanwhile I noticed the Resend Verify Email must have worked when I used it, following the list, cause other verification emails had arrived.
I thought OK, not ideal, but I will do them manually. Not so easy as clicking the verification link in the email, I found.
The link will not verify unless you are logged in.
I understand this may be very difficult to address from the good old USA.
Apart from solving the problem outright, which you probably could with your knowledge, if you were sitting where I am, might I suggest something
as a temporary solution, just to keep us going?
How easy would it be to write a program which allows us to select an account and have it open in a browser? It would still mean manually going through the verification process, but we would not need to painstakingly copy and paste each email and password from the text file. This is just an idea as that is the fiddly part which takes time, having to log in each one.
If I can be of any help from my viewpoint, do let me know and I'll help with any tests or whatever you might need. Would be my pleasure.
